The LI Housing Coalition kicks off it’s “Housing in your Hometown” Series in Glen Cove.

Together with ERASE Racism, the Long Island Housing Partnership, and the Glen Cove Age-Friendly Program, on Tuesday, October 29th the LIHC hosted the Glen Cove Housing Summit, it’s first affordable housing summit.

Featuring a presentation on the history of housing in Glen Cove by Derek Stein, updates from Federal and State representatives and a presentation by Ann Fangmann from the Glen Cove CDA.

The presentation also featured a panel and Q&A with Assemblyman Chuck Lavine and a panel of policy experts including Sharon Mullon from the LIHP. Ian Wilder from Long Island Housing Services, Ann Fangmann the Executive Director of the Glen Cove CDA, Laura Harding President of ERASE Racism, and Jeanmarie Buffett Senior VP of Housing Programs and Development with CDLI.

In total, the event had over 40 attendees, who learned about the need for housing, how to get involved with their communities to advocate for housing, and about programs which are available to support homeowners or renters alike.
