Accessory Dwelling Units would help ease housing crisis

Today, Newsday published a guest essay from Laura Harding, President of ERASE Racism which Chairs the Long Island Housing Coalition. Outlining the progress we have seen across Long Island with Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and the success, and possible improvements, to the State’s ADU Plus One Program, which provides homeowners funding to make necessary improvements to their homes that could enable them to have create a legal basement or attached apartment in their homes.
